AWARD WINNERS
BelGioioso stands out
at ACS competition
BelGioioso Cheese, Green Bay,
Wis., received several first, second
and third place awards across
multiple categories at the 2024
American Cheese Society (ACS)
Judging & Competition.
BelGioioso products earned
six first place awards from ACS,
with Cow and Sheep Gorgonzola,
Fontina, Fresh Mozzarella 1-lb
log, Mascarpone, Parmesan, and
Marinated Fresh Mozzarella with
Basil and Garlic each winning a
category.

BelGioioso Cheese.
" These awards highlight the

Auricchio also said the company's

Second place awards went to
BelGioioso's Fresh Mozzarella 8
oz ball, Crescenza-Stracchino and
Artigiano Blood Orange.
The cheese producer's American
Grana, Black Truffle Burrata,
Caciocavallo Medium Provolone,
Crema di Mascarpone and
Stracciatella Burrata filling each
received third place.

California cheeses
earn accolades
The California Milk Advisory Board
(CMAB) announced the state's
cheesemakers secured 53 awards
overall at the 2024 ACS Judging &
Competition.
CMAB noted that cheese and
dairy processors who use the Real
California Milk seal accounted for 31
of those awards - eight first place,
11 second place and 12 third place
across various categories.
The top cow's milk ACS winners
from the Golden State were Turlock,
Calif.-based Central Valley Cheese/
Karoun Dairies, which won six
awards, and San Jose's Marquez
Brothers International, which
finished with five.
Sierra Nevada Cheese Company
won four awards for non-cow's milk
cheese, while Bellwether Farms won
one such award.
Additionally, award-winning
California cheesemakers producing
non-cow's milk products included
goat cheese makers Laura Chenel
and Cypress Grove, and sheep's milk
cheese producers Shooting Star
Creamery, Central Coast Creamery
and Pennyroyal Farm.
