t's been over a year since members of the dairy industry
have come together in person to connect, learn and see
the latest industry innovations. After more than a year
of canceled or virtual trade shows due to the COVID-19
pandemic, the industry is slowly shifting back toward inperson
events.
Tradeshows remain a critical resource for businesses
when it comes to making purchasing decisions and to see
the latest innovations from suppliers. The dairy industry is
looking ahead to several tradeshows in the coming months to
reconnect with colleagues and see innovation in action.
PACK EXPO LAS VEGAS
Sept. 27-29, Las Vegas
PACK EXPO Las Vegas will take place from Sept. 27-29 at the
Las Vegas Convention Center and is the only show slated this
year that will cover the entire packaging industry. The show,
produced by The Association for Packaging and Processing
Technologies (PMMI), will feature the latest in new materials,
technologies and solutions to address the packaging and
processing needs of 40-plus vertical markets. With multiple
educational platforms and networking opportunities, the
event will provide endless prospects for exchanging ideas and
professional growth.
" Although we expected the board to support moving
forward with the show, we were particularly encouraged by
what they are hearing from their customers, " said Jim Pittas,
president and chief executive officer of PMMI. " The message
was clear: The industry is extremely strong, and with the need
for in-person events so great, PACK EXPO remains perfectly
positioned to serve the industry. "
" The board discussion ... reinforced the significant need

for an event where we can meet with customers, discuss their
challenges and present them with real solutions to their needs, "
said Emmanuel Cerf, vice president of sales, Polypack, Inc., and
chairman of PMMI. " Our customers are eager to attend, and
PMMI leadership is instructing staff to move full steam ahead with
planning for a return to a safe and productive in-person trade show. "
A recent poll from PMMI showed nearly nine out of 10
packaging and processing end-users said in-person trade shows
are essential for networking and discovering what is new in
the industry.
" This survey confirmed our belief that the industry relishes
the unique opportunity to conduct business and see equipment
in-person, with many noting that trade shows reveal solutions
they were not considering before discovering them live, " said
Laura Thompson, PMMI vice president, trade shows.
The show will include returning educational offerings at
Innovation Stages and The Forum, as well as The Processing
Zone, which will showcase front-of-line solutions from food
processing and systems, food safety, engineering, design and
construction services.
Another new education addition to the PACK EXPO
Las Vegas roster is the Cold Pressure Council Annual
Conference. Scheduled for the last two days of the show by the
Cold Pressure Council, the conference will feature High Pressure
Processing (HPP) best practices, market trends, packaging
material insights and uses and tips for packaging HPP products
from leading food processor and services supplier experts. The
Cold Pressure Council leads, facilitates and promotes industry
standardization, user education and consumer awareness of
high-pressure processing via its membership of HPP suppliers
and consumer packaged goods (CPGs) companies who use and
advocate for the technology.
